Singapore 2008: Indonesia’s Lion orders 56 more 737-900ERs

Indonesia’s Lion Air has ordered 56 more Boeing 737-900ERs, lifting its firm commitments to the type to 178.

At the Singapore Airshow today Lion president director Rusdi Kirana signed the firm order for 56 more 737-900ERs. The deal also includes purchase rights for another 50.

Rusdi told ATI after the signing ceremony that the first delivery from this latest order will occur in 2014. He says the carrier already operates nine 737-900ERs in Indonesia from its initial order.

By year-end the number of Lion’s 737-900ERs will reach 15 and next year it will be taking delivery of one per month and phasing out its 737-300s, 737-400s, <A href=”http://www.bo
