RAK Airways starts operations with first flight to Dhaka
Middle Eastern start-up carrier RAK Airways has finally started operations although its first departure today was to the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka rather than Beirut as initially planned.
The United Arab Emirates airline, based in Ras Al Khaimah, is to operate to Dhaka three times per week using Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
“We’ve been working very hard to achieve this milestone and are proud to contribute to the economic development of Ras Al Khaimah,” says RAK Airways chief operating officer Khalid Almeer.
Last week RAK Airways, which has been struggling to begin services, stated that it would initially fly to Beirut and quickly introduce links to Dhaka, Colombo and Sofia.
