Investors linked to a Geneva trust fund have put forward an offer to acquire UK all-business airline Silverjet, which ceased operations on 30 May.

The offer to administrator Begbies Traynor is being submitted on behalf of private clients through an Irish-registered firm, Kingplace, which is managed by a Geneva trust company identified as Heritage Cie.

Heritage chairman Ian Ilsley says the company is “excited at the prospect” of acquiring Silverjet and “resuming operations as quickly as possible” with Silverjet’s current staff and crews.

“We will be investing in the future development and success of the brand,” he adds.

Silverjet chief executive Lawrence Hunt has confirmed the discussions between Kingplace and Begbies Traynor, adding that the carrier hopes to announce shortly when it will be able to restart services.
