Book by 5 October, 2010:

German airline Lufthansa is offering a raft of South American savings until early next month, it has been announced, with Economy Class return fares starting at just £389.

Until 5 October, selected flights to South America departing between 1 May and 30 June 2011 and returning between 7 May and 30 September are subject to significant discounts.

Among bargain fares for the Argentine capital, flights from London to Buenos Aires are offered from £459; and from Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh for £449.

Venezuelan capital Caracas, meanwhile, has also seen savings: flights from London to Caracas start at £429; and from Birmingham and Manchester at £419.

Cheap Colombia fares are also offered, with flights from London to Bogota available from £399; and from Birmingham and Manchester for as little as £389.

A minimum stay of six days or one Saturday night and maximum stay of three months apply, and fares are subject to availability.
