ILA 2008: Court approves EOS auction
A US bankruptcy court approved an auction for the sale of premium carrier Eos Airlines and its assets.
The carrier filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on April 26 after a potential capital injection never materialised. Eos ceased operations shortly after its filing.
Eos flew Boeing 757s in a 48-seat configuration from London Stansted to New York and was preparing to launch new service to Newark and Dubai.
A deadline of tomorrow has been set for bid submissions for the assets, followed by an auction on June 9.
Eos says it hopes to sell the business to a party interested in restarting the carrier, or sell all of its most valuable assets to one or more purchasers.
