Away from the blockbuster deal with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, Boeing continues to add new sales to its bulging order book for its 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Yesterday, the firm announced eight new orders – worth a total of nearly $1.3 billion – from two new customers. It brings the total order book to 738 aircraft.

Leasing firm LCAL, the first leasing company to order the type two years ago, yesterday ordered another six 787-8s, expanding its fleet to 21 of the type. The deal is worth about $970 million at list prices.

Also yesterday, Royal Jordanian signed for two additional 787s with a price tag of about $300m. Together with an announcement that it is to take two more 787s on lease from CIT Aerospace, the move is part of Royal Jordanian’s strategy to replace its Airbus A340s.
