Continental adds Heathrow flights to New York

Continental AirlinesContinental Airlines is boosting the number of flights it operates from London Heathrow Airport to New York Newark Airport with two extra daily services.

A fourth daily flight departing in the early evening will be added to Continental’s schedule on 28 March, followed by the addition of a fifth connection later in October.

The American carrier is also improving services on all of its Heathrow links by rolling out flat bed seats in Business Class cabins on flights to New York and Houtston.

Every single Continental aircraft departing Heathrow will feature the new premium seats by 2 June.

Commenting on the boosted frequencies, airline CEO Jeff Smisek said: “Heathrow to New York is a flagship route for Continental. As the leading airline in the New York market, we are excited about introducing these schedule and product improvements for our London to New York travellers.

“All our London to New York customers will benefit from more flight options, while those travelling in BusinessFirst – whether to New York or Houston – will be assured of a flat bed seat.”

The new Business Class seats offer a flat sleeping space 6-feet-6-inches in length, and include a built-in 15.4-inch entertainment screen along with power, USB and iPod sockets.
