BA’s OpenSkies opts for portable IFE players

British Airways has opted to deploy handheld in-flight entertainment (IFE) players for its new transatlantic operation OpenSkies and selected California-based IMS to provide the units.

IMS will provide its PAV-705 handheld IFE player and will also provide content management services and ground service provisioning, including content loading, battery charging and headsets.

Each content set on the players will comprise more than 50 hours of audio and video programming.
