Air Nostrum pilots call off strikes
Pilots at Spanish regional Air Nostrum have called off strike action which was set to begin on 21 May after reaching a new deal extending its collective labour agreement.
The pilots, represented by SEPLA, were to hold two three-day walkouts on 21 and 28 May amid the deadlock with management at the carrier.
But SEPLA says today it has struck a deal overcoming the main sticking points with airline management following more talks yesterday. Under the deal the two sides have agreed to extend the existing collective labour agreement, meaning it remains valid for two more years.
Air Nostrum, which had been set to cancel an average of 127 flights a day during the three-day walkouts, confirms the strike is now off and will add more details later.
