Dubai 2007: Qatar Airways confirms $13.5 billion order for 30 Boeing 787s and 27 777s

Qatar Airways has finally announced its long held orders for Boeing 777s and 787s at the Dubai air show today, confirming a firm deal for 27 777s and 30 787s with options on 35 more.

Iberia A340-600 badly damaged after sliding off Quito runway

All occupants of an Iberia Airbus A340-600 have apparently escaped injury after the aircraft was badly damaged when it skidded off the runway while landing at Ecuador’s Quito International Airport on 9th Nov.

South Africa grounds 737-200s after engine separation incident

South Africa’s civil aviation administration has ordered the grounding of all Boeing 737-200s pending engine-mounting checks, after a Nationwide Airlines aircraft shed one of its engines on take-off.
