EC and USA finger European states for blocking progress on alliances

JMC gets long-haul boost with first Airbus A330

UK charter carrier JMC Airlines has received the first of two Airbus A330-200s on lease from Tyco Capital Aerospace, which will replace ageing McDonnell DouglasDC-10-30s and be used to develop its long-haul services. The Thomas Cook-owned airline initially plans to operate its Rolls-Royce Trent powered A330s to the Caribbean and the US East coast.

GE90 thrusts its way into the engine record books at 120,000lb

General Electric’s growth version of the GE90, the -115B for the longer-range Boeing 777-300ER/200LR derivatives, achieved a record power level of 120,316lb (535.4kN) during initial tests on 19 November.
